5-Amino-1MQ is a selective small-molecule inhibitor of nicotinamide N-methyltransferase (NNMT), the enzyme implicated in adipocyte energy storage. Published peer-reviewed research has investigated its alleged role in adipocyte differentiation suppression, reduced fat-mass gain on high-fat diet, preservation of muscle mass and improvements in metabolic markers in rodent models.
